Zotac 10 Year Anniversary Sonix 480GB PCIe Solid State Drive Review

Final Thoughts
Zotac’s 10 Year Anniversary Sonix 480GB PCIe Solid State Drive is a great choice for a storage device if you are looking to upgrade your current storage situation or you are building a new PC. The benefits over a traditional hard drive are quite massive, but even over a solid state drive you are going to get about quadruple the performance! The means faster boot times, faster game loading, and an all-around better PC experience.

One thing that is nice about this drive compared to the newer M.2 drives is that it is an expansion card. If you have an older system that does not have M.2 slots or has first generation M.2 slots you are not going to be able to use those new drives. With the Sonix all you need is an open PCI-Express slot. This also makes installation far easier in our opinion.

Being that this drive celebrates Zotac’s 10-year Anniversary they wanted to do something special so they changed the shroud to black and added RGB lighting. It definitely has to be one of the better looking PCI-Express solid state drives and one of the only ones we know about with RGB lighting!

Now we did run into a few weird tests results in AS SSD Benchmark and Anvil Storage Utilities where the write speeds were considerably slow. As our other tests ran fine we don’t think that this is a major issue, and it could even be fixed with a firmware update.

At the end of the day this is a great PCI-Express solid state drive, and a very unique one with its RGB lighting. Right now you can pick it up at our favorite online retailer for $339.99. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Zotac 10 Year Anniversary Sonix 480GB PCIe Solid State Drive a 9 out of 10 score.
