The two most innovative features of these GPUs include AMD’s Mantle and AMD TrueAudio technology which have not only given an advantage to the gamers alone but also focuses towards the game developers with the provision of unprecedented audio and performance enhancements for compatible games. This provides the developers with programmable audio pipeline on the GPU via the built-in audio signal processor which supports 150 sound sources, delivering 7.1 surround through headphones and zero CPU overhead. Previously there was recognition for 50 sounds only. The XFX Ghost 2.0 thermal design has been featured in the R9 and R7 designs as they serve the introductory platform for this. The original thermal design ‘Ghost’ was introduced in 2012 and this latest 2.0 version has evolved since then.
