Updated Firmware Available for 6th, 7th and 8th Generation Intel Core Processors

In a recent blog post Intel announced that they are deploying microcode updates / solutions that have been validated over the past few weeks. These updates are made to patch the recent Spectre and Meltdown security vulnerabilities that were found in Intel processors. These microcode updates will mostly be distributed via OEM firmware updates (BIOS update). So if you want your system hardered against both Spectre and Meltdown be sure to get the latest BIOS update for your motherboard.

These microcode updates come as a second wave of patches from Intel to fix the Spectre and Meltdown exploits. The first round of patches were released very quickly and made many systems unstable, which cause many users to rollback the update. Hopefully theses update finally close the book on Spectre and Meltdown.
