Tt eSPORTS Poseidon ZX Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

Tt eSPORTS Poseidon ZX Keyboard Overview
The first thing that you will notice about the Poseidon ZX keyboard is its size, it is actually quite small. This is called the Tenkeyless form factor and it is 80% the length of a regular full sized keyboard. This makes it a great size for taking it with you to LAN parties and other events.

The keyboard has a great feel to it and good weight. The build quality seems superb too. Since this keyboard is in the Tenkeyless form factor you do lose your number pad and there are no macro or additional keys on the keyboard either. This is why I like to call this keyboard a purist keyboard.

As I mentioned in the introduction of the review this is a mechanical gaming keyboard and uses Tt eSPORTS certified blue switches that are rated for 50 million keystrokes. The key switches are actually made by Kailh. The spacebar has the Tt eSPORTS logo on it as well.

There is some additional functionality built into this keyboard. The F1-F7 keys double as multimedia keys. So all you have to do is hold down the function key and press them to use the multimedia controls. These controls include back, play / pause, forward, stop, mute, volume up and volume down. The F11 and F12 keys double as brightness up and down keys and there is a Windows lock key at the top right of the keyboard that will disable the Windows button on the keyboard. This is great when you are gaming because no one wants to accidently hit the Windows button and minimize their game.

Taking a look at the keyboard from the side we can see how the key rows are aligned. The first three rows of keys are set at a downward angle while the last three are at more of an upward angle. This should make for good finger placement. The keyboard does have pop-out feet for height adjustment.

Flipping the keyboard over there are 4 rubber feet that will keep the keyboard from moving around during intense gaming sessions. There are also two wire channels in the board to keep your cables out of the way of the keyboard.

The USB cable is not the braided one that we have seen with other Tt eSPORTS products, but the connector itself is gold-plated.

Each key is individually backlit with a blue LED and there are four different brightness levels. Here are photos of the keyboard illuminated with the red key caps installed.
