Tt eSPORTS Poseidon Z RGB Gaming Keyboard Overview
Taking a first look at the keyboard you can see that the Poseidon Z RGB is a full-size keyboard meaning that you have a full compliment of keys as well as a full number pad. You will notice though that there are no extra macro keys or buttons and the keyboard lacks a wrist rest. This more compact size is actually quite popular in the eSports scene as many gamers don’t have the need for all of those extra buttons.
This is a mechanical keyboard making use of Tt eSPORTS own Brown Switches. These switches as Tt eSPORTS explains it are made for stealth. They offer a tactile response that gamers love and have a quiet click. The actuation force is 45 cN. This will give you great feedback and responsiveness as you game. These switches are rated for 50 million key strokes and have a 5-year warranty.
While you do not have any extra macro or function keys there are many keys that have alternate functions when you hold down the function key on the keyboard. The F1-F7 keys have alternate functions as follows: back, play / pause, forward, stop, volume mute, volume down, volume up.
Moving over to the far side of the keyboard there is a dedicated button that will switch between normal mode and gaming mode. In gaming mode the Windows key is disabled and you have the ability to completely remap the keyboard. You will also notice P1-P5 alternate keys here, they will allow you to quick switch between the 5 different profiles in the software. Finally you have the NKRO alternate key that allows you to switch NKRO mode on and off.
Flipping the keyboard over there are two feet that pop out to give you height adjustment. There are also 5 rubber feet on the bottom of the keyboard that will keep it in place during an intense gaming session. You will notice the cable channel at the top that allows the included cable to be put out from either side of the keyboard.
Taking a look at the keyboard from the side we can see that the first three rows of keys angle down while the last three angle up. This should give you a really comfortable feel when typing and gaming. With the height adjustment those angles become more extreme.
The cable that is connected to the keyboard is the typical rubber cable with a normal USB connector (not gold-plated).
