Three STRIX Series 7.1-ch Sound Cards Revealed By ASUS

ASUS has just revealed three new premium sound cards under its STRIX brand at Computex. These cards include the STRIX RAID DLX, STRIX RAID Pro, and STRIX Soar. These sounds cards have a similar design but offer different features and DSPs.

ASUS STRIX RAID DLX

The two higher-end models (STRIX RAID DLX & STRIX RAID Pro) come with an external controller module audio connections, physical switches to audio controls, and of course a large volume knob.

The card is made up of a native PCI-Express multi-CODEC HD audio controller that is wired to an ESS SABRE 9006a DAC that is dedicated to front audio output with 116 dBA SNR. There is also a separate 110 dBA SNR DAC wired to the main headphone amplifier. The RAID DLX card’s front-out DAC is actually a higher quality SABRE 9016a. The main amp on the cards can handle 600Ω impedance headphones.

The software has many of the features like you would find an ASUS’s motherboards like Sonic Radar that lets you pinpoint enemies based on audio. There is also a raid mode (positional audio) and a new Sonic Studio control panel interface.
