ThinkComputers Holiday 2015 Staff Wish List

It is that time of year again, Holidays! We always ask our families for things we would like each year, but we don’t always get them. The staff here at ThinkComputers has compiled a list of products they would like this year for the Holiday. Even though we get the opportunity to review some pretty awesome products there are still some things we would like. Check out our wish lists for this year!

When it comes to Christmas it seems I really don’t really need all that much. I review a good bit of things here on the site so when it comes to hardware I am usually set, but if course in a perfect world I could always use a few more things. So here are 5 things I would like to find under the tree this Holiday season!

Sharp Aquos LC-70UD27U 70-Inch 4K Smart TV (Amazon)

I have been rocking a Sharp Aquos 1080p TV for the longest time (probably 7 years?) and I think that speaks to the quality of Sharp’s TV products. But I think it is time for an upgrade and I would definitely want to be going to 4K! Sharp’s 70-inch LC-70UD27U would be nice to have for sure! Not only does it have 4K resolution, but it is also a smart TV so connected and I can use apps like Netflix etc on it. I would hope it would last me as long as my current TV!

D-Link AC3200 Ultra Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router (Amazon)

Sadly I use a $30 TP-LINK router for my home network (don’t ask me why). Let’s just say you can definitely tell it is a $30 router! I have become a pretty big fan of D-Link products over the past year so replacing the $30 router with the D-Link AC3200 Ultra Tri-Band Wi-Fi Router would be ideal. This router has pretty much everything I would want in a router and a lot more!

Sony a7R II Camera (Amazon)
Sony-A7R-II

It is definitely time for a camera upgrade! I moved from a larger D-SLR to a Sony mirror-less camera about 4 years ago and I don’t see myself ever going back. Sony has really captured the market here and with each new camera they release they are constantly improving things. What’s great about the a7R II is that it would function not only as a normal camera, but as a video camera too as it is capable of 4K video. The video camera we use for our videos here is in the need of an upgrade as well so I would be killing two birds with one stone.

3x Dell P2715Q 27-inch Ultra HD 4k Monitors (Amazon)

My dual monitor setup could use a third display, even better let’s replace them all with 4K monitors. I have been using Dell displays for such a long time and I have a huge fan of them. I already have the 24-inch version of this display which we use for testing graphics cards. The 27-inch versions just seem appropriate for my main PC system. This way I can work (and game!) effectively! At less than $500 for each display these are a great deal!

Ergotech Triple Desk Stand with Telescopic Wings (Amazon)

Monitor stands take up a lot of desk space, they best way to combat this is to get a single monitor stand. After doing some research it seems the Ergotech Triple Desk Stand is the best in performance it its price range and of course it supports up to three 27-inch displays. The version that I want has the telescopic wings, which allows me to angle out the two outer displays. My desk would look amazing with this setup!
