Thermaltake SpinQ VT CPU Cooler Review

Installation
Installation is rather simple with the SpinQ. We are using a Socket 775 setup which requires two brackets with two pushpins on each. Each bracket is easily secured to the CPU cooler base by two screws.

You also have to make sure that you apply the included thermal grease prior to attaching the CPU cooler to the base. Since this is an LGA 775 installation and the cooler is vertical, there really is no proper way to install the cooler.  It will fit pretty much anyway you put it.

The pushpins are simply to install, just push on them until the snap and then secure them by rotating them to the right

Once I installed it in my case I found out that there is very little room for error. The top of the cooler is only a couple of millimeters away from where my side panel is and the cooler nearly hits the top of my case. These are some close measurements done by Thermaltake. I’m sure it will fit in most cases; it’s just something that you should consider when purchasing the SpinQ VT.

Other than vertical space the SpinQ VT doesn’t take up that much other space in the case.

The red LED in the fan is also a nice add-on to the cooler. I prefer blue myself, but the red still looks nice.
