The First Gigabyte Aorus Branded Motherboard Teased

About a month ago we reported that Gigabyte’s subsidiary AORUS would be going head to head against ASUS’s Republic of Gamers and MSI’s Gaming brand by offering motherboards and graphics cards along with the gaming laptops, which have been in the market for a few years. It looks like Gigabyte will be ready with Aorus motherboards to start 2017 as they are teasing them on their Facebook page.

The picture posted by all accounts is a new LGA1151 motherboard based of the upcoming Intel Z270 chipset. We can see four PCI-Express x16 slots with metal shielding. Two of these would be wired directly to the Z270 chipset and would be electrical x4, given the chipset’s 4 additional PCIe downstream lanes. We can see RGB LEDs all over the board, much like what we saw on our review of the Gigabyte X99-Ultra Gaming Motherboard.

We expect to see these motherboard revealed at CES 2017 alongside the official launch of Intel’s Kaby Lake processors and Z270 chipset.
