Back in July Samsung announced 2TB versions of their 850 Pro and 850 Evo solid state drives, but no one had spotted them in the wild. Well that has not changed as they have been found in many stores, are available through Samsung directly, and can be ordered from many online retailers.
As we mentioned before these drives are nothing new, just the higher capacity is the new thing. Both drives use Samsung’s 3D V-NAND technology, the 850 Pro features TLC NAND whereas the 850 Evo uses TLC NAND. The 850 Pro is however faster and does feature a better warranty, but most users will do just fine with the 850 Evo.
While I was not able to find the 850 Evo 2TB on Amazon, the 2TB 850 Pro is only $923.94, which is cheaper than its $1000 MSRP.
