AMD “Navi” Graphics Cards Could Arrive in August 2018

AMD's Vega graphics cards are still very new, but it looks like the company is already moving towards the "Navi" architecture. Graphics cards based on the 7nm fabbed GPUs could be seen as early as August 2018 according to a new report.

AMD To Launch 7nm “Grey Hawk” Quad-Core APUs in 2019

Since GlobalFoundries forecast of production-grade 7nm silicon fabrication node by 2019, AMD will be preparing a new APU silicon which is codenamed "Grey Hawk". AMD is hoping for TDPs of 10W for these chips. This low TDP could make these chips perfect for super-slim notebooks and other handhelds, besides being used for compact desktops and all-in-ones.

TSMC Will Be Ready To Take 7nm Orders By April 2017

Many people do not realize that many of the products we use rely heavily on are nothing without the foundries that produce the silicon that powers those products. This makes the progress of the fabs very important to us enthusiasts. We have just heard that TSMC, one of the leading foundries, will be ready to take orders for products on the 7nm node by as early as April 2017. This is very significant to us as this lets us know when we can start expecting GPUs and CPUs based on the same node.

GlobalFoundries Could Skip 10nm and Go Right to 7nm

It has been reported that silicon fabrication company GlobalFoundries is planning to skip development of the 10 nanometer (nm) process, and go right to 7 nm. GlobalFoundries currently operates a 14 nm FinFET node. Last year the company acquired semiconductor manufacturing assets from IBM and will be using them to fast-track its development.
