Synology RT1900ac Router Review

Setup & Synology Router Manager Overview
Getting the RT1900ac setup is extremely easy. Go ahead and plug in the power and connect your WAN and LAN devices if you are going to be using any. Hit the power button on the back of the device to turn it on, also be sure to turn the WiFi switch on the side to on if you plan on using WiFi.

Now you can configure the router using your PC, mobile device or tablet. If you are using your PC with WiFi or a tablet / mobile device connect to the “SynologyRouter” SSID using the password synology. Then open your browser and navigate to 192.168.1.1. This will take you to the setup wizard. Alternatively you can use Synology’s DS router app, which is available for both Android and iOS. Since we are directly connected to the router via LAN we will be setting up the router in our browser. Check out the video to see just how easy it is.

One of my favorite things about the RT1900ac is the Synology Router Manager (SRM) which is the operating system that powers the router. It offers a friendly interface, making managing your network and Wi-Fi settings super simple, while delivering robust tools for power users and professionals. Instead of taking 40+ screenshots of SRM and trying to explain each one we did a video overview of SRM, where we covered pretty much everything. The video is over 20 minutes long! Check it out below.
