Sony Announces VAIO Duo 13 Slider

Sony makes us lucky again. Thanks for the leaked videos on YouTube; we already knew there was something cooking at Sony’s end. Here we are with the announcement of the new Sony Vaio Duo 13 giving slider another shot. We hope this model becomes a market success after the failure of its ancestor model Vaio Duo 11 which was merely too high in price and had a real poor battery life. Company promises to mend the earlier mistakes and compensate the users.

As far as we know Duo 13 is much comfortable to use, it has same dimensions and weighs a fraction more than its predecessor. It comes in a carbon-fiber design similar to what we have seen in the old Z series and the new Pro series as well. This time for maximum benefit of its users Sony has made less cramped keyboard unlike the previous version, duo 13 also includes a proper track pad.

This notebook weighs less than 3 pounds and is only 0.77 inches thick while having a screen size of 13.3 inches. It has got a scratch-resistant high definition screen resolution (1080p). It would be very interesting to believe that screen closes facing outward. Also it has the same X-Reality processing engine as we have previously seen in Xperia Smartphone’s. Coming down to specs, it comprises NFC, Haswell processor and optional AT&T LTE. Sony Vaio also includes a main camera with an upgraded 8 megapixel shooter, and now the webcam even does a 1080p video. Talking about the battery life, it is expected that it should at least last for 10 hours courtesy Sony Active Sleep Technology.

For the curious, Sony Vaio Duo13 will be available on 9th June with a starting price of $1400.
