SilverStone Raven RV05 Prototype Pictured

Just four months after the release of the Raven RV04 SilverStone is already working on the Raven RV05. The first prototype of the case was shown to the Japanese Press. The RV05 features a slick new design and brings back the classic rear-top orientated motherboard tray, which positions the I/O ports and expansion cards on the top of the case.

The RV05 is a much smaller case than the original RV01. Talking in volumes the RV05 is 55 liters compared to the 114 liters of the RV01. The case will support ATX, SSI-CEB and micro-ATX motherboards. SilverStone also says that larger motherboard will fit in the case because they have completely removed the 5.25-inch drive bay.

There are seven expansion slots on the top of the case and a top-orientated power supply bay.

When it comes to storage you have room for two 3.5-inch and two 2.5-inch hard drives and a slimline optical drive bay. Cooling includes two large 180 mm bottom intake fans, which have large dust filters on them, a 120 mm top exhaust (included) and room for a 120 mm rear exhaust. The bottom fans can support 280 x 140 mm radiators.

The front panel has two USB 3.0 ports and HD audio jacks. SilverStone has not finalized the design, but it sure does look like an improvement over the RV04. What do you think?
