SilverStone Precision Series PS11 Case Review

Final Thoughts
While it may be extremely cost effective to have this case manufactured at an outside plant and sell it for a low price at high volume to the masses, but it may not be very cost effective to the buyer.

At $50.00 US Dollars, I have a case with just one fan and its not an exhaust fan its a front fan. So least I have to buy is an 80 mm or a 120 mm fan for an exhaust. The way I built it I added two $9.00 fans and the air cooler cost more than the case did. The motherboard was three times and the processor was more. The power supply was 4 times more and the Graphics card was 4 times that cost as well. Adding the drives in and other things I am trying to figure out what would be the best build for this computer case. I know that I overbuilt it. I am an enthusiast, so I don’t buy cheap parts to fill any case period. But the first part of my introduction I addressed the official SilverStonetek website and it used the word enthusiast for which the case was built for. It says it was built for me.

As the case is built here it doesn’t make much sense to build a high quality gaming build with this case because it will be problematic at best for me with vibration and sound insulation lighting and overall quality. If I am a new Freshman in the dorm at my new College maybe I might want everyone to think the computer I have is not worthy stealing, but this won’t work either because the case is really pretty even if it is extremely economically built. So I can’t use it for a sleeper case.

To be cost effective this case would have to be paired with a very inexpensive AMD or Intel motherboard using built-in HD 3000 graphics or more built primarily for gaming with one or two fast hard drives. Not mechanical basically used for internet surfing or maybe a cheap video card for light gaming and a child’s machine. But enthusiast. Not in this lifetime. At least no enthusiast that I know.

It’s just not cost effective to the buyer which is really the biggest downfall for this case. If your grandmother or mom needs an internet surfer to watch Netflix then this will look good with the drapes and be in her budget but for a full on gamer or enthusiast I would look for something a few dollars more that already has the fans included and made of a thicker grade steel.

Overall ThinkComputers gives the SilverStone Precision Series PS11 Case a 7 out of 10 score for build quality and cost effectiveness.
