SilverStone Fortress FT04 Case Review

Packaging
The packaging of this exceptional case deserves an exceptional box and Silverstone provided this box generously with double walled construction and full color outer shell printing in black background and bright legible writing with a picture of the case profile and the basic features that you can expect from the purchase of this case.

Front Box

The back of the case box also follows the same diamond plate aluminum theme with a detailed look of the interior of the case and the features that come in this uniquely engineered case. Numbered markers to give the potential buyer a look inside the box and the true unmatched elegance of thought that went into this cases design.

Back Case

The sides of the boxes are shown below and include an introduction to the usage and features of the Silverstone Fortress FT04 computer case in 9 different languages. The other side shows the basic specifications of the case so that the potential buyer can match their build to the case which seems to have very little equal.

Box Sides

As I open the bottom of the box I find the face of the case staring me straight in the face and its superb styling is apparent even at the first glance. The Silverstone logo is cut with diamond precision into the heavy thick outer front casing of the front door and it is very tightly packed into the box it comes in.

open box

The interior padding that comes was a little disappointing for a case of this stature using high impact Styrofoam instead of the high quality polyurethane that usually covets a case of this price but it landed on my porch well with no problems and was easy to unpack but the be fair to Silverstone this case could have come without a box and made it just as well since the build of this Fortress FT04 is built like a military quality assault vehicle.

Styo surround

The case is wrapped loosely with transparent high density plastic specifically made to keep the airborne contaminates out of the case and also to protect the case during transit from any water or chemical spillage.
Plastic covered case

The high quality side window is covered in a transparent stick on coating on both sides to keep the window pristine as the day it was made. I found the outer plastic to be loose and rolled on some of the window but there was no damage as a result of this, but it could have been covered a little bit more securely with a stickier material than the roughly cut plastic covering but it could have been done lots better.

Plastic Cover window

These two images below are the same piece of high density Styrofoam but it show how the accessories are completely separated from the case itself to keep the case interior from being scratched or broken in transit. This was a great idea and deserves some recognition for the way it was encased.

Parts Stowaway

Located on the side of the high quality Styrofoam encasement we find the parts that come with the case. There are thumbscrews for the 5.25 drive bay units and special parts that are for disabling the front fan controller, plenty of standoffs, screws, ties and brackets and braces to make sure your build is complete solid inside the case as it is moved or used in any situation. The six brackets in the middle are made for changing the front 180x180mm fans to a triple 120x120mm fan for triple water cooling radiators to fit into the front.
