Testing – HD Tune & ATTO
We will be testing the GoFlex Desk drive on our P67 system using both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. On the next 2 pages for each test you will see 2 screenshots. The screenshot on the left is the USB 3.0 result and the USB 2.0 result is on the right.
Up first is HDTune. We will running the read benchmark first.
As you can see there is sure a difference between USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. On the USB 3.0 test the drive averaged out at 85.2MB/s and had a max speed of 112MB/s.
Now we have the write test.
The write test also shows the difference in performance between USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. The drive had a average speed of 80MB/s during the write test and a max speed of 108.3MB/s.
ATTO Disk Benchmark that measures transfer rates across specific lengths. ATTO uses RAW data, our transfer sizes ranged from 0.5 to 8192kb. Here are the results from the ATTO tests.
The drive when connected via USB 3.0 peaked at around 114MB/s for both read and write.
