Samsung Working On 32:9, 29:9 Ultra-Wide Panels

As we know Samsung is all about ultra-wide displays and they are now working on what are being called Double Full HD monitors. These will allow users using VR headsets to have their field of vision almost filled with screen real estate. One of the new panels Samsung is working on is 49-inch wide, 32:9, 3840×1080 display. It will feature an 1800R curve, which is much more dramatic curve than you find on a 21:9 ultra-wide display.

The panel will support both G-Sync and Freesync (different versions surely), and will have a maximum refresh rate of 144 Hz. The panel will also offer a high 5000:1 static contrast ratio. These panels are planned for mass production in September 2017.

Samsung is also working on a 29:9, 44-inch panel, offering a 3840×1200 resolution and the same 5000:1 contrast ratio, 1800R curvature, and an 8-bit color depth with a 3-side frameless design. This display will come in 60 Hz and 144 Hz versions.
