Samsung to Release Two Sub-10-Inch Tablets

The sub-10-inch tablet market is exploding, especially with the success and popularity of Google’s Nexus 7 tablet. It looks like Samsung will be releasing two sub-10-inch tablets before the end of 2013. These tablets include a 7-inch Galaxy Tab DUOS 7.0 and an 8-inch Galaxy Tab 8.0. It is confirmed that both of these tablets will be running Android, but no word on pricing or when they will be available.

The 7-inch Galaxy Tab DUOS 7.0 will most likely run a dual-core Exynos CPU like the larger Tab 11. The 7-inch display has a native resolution of 1024 x 600. There is a microSD card slot that will provide up to 32 GB of storage. I’m guessing the DUOS name is because the tablet can accept dual SIM cards. The DUOS will also come with two camera’s, a front facing 2.0-MP and a back 3.0-MP.

The 8-inch Galaxy Tab 8.0 will ship with an AMOLED 1080p display. It will be running a quad-core Exynos 4421 CPU, 64GB of solid state storage and will also have two cameras (2-MP front, 5-MP back).
