Samsung SyncMaster 2233SW 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor Review

Final Thoughts

I think that the SyncMaster 2233SW is a great mainstream display for anyone looking for a 22-inch 16:9 display. The display is very sleek and would look great on anyone’s desk. Samsung did a really good job in making this display stand out. The colors on this display are very vibrant and watching any type of media will be enjoyable, the 15000:1 dynamic contrast is great! Also the 5ms response time works well with all of the games we tested.

I really like this 16:9 aspect ratio, the wider it is the better! A wider resolution means you can fit more on the screen, which is great for multitasking! Also playing games like World of Warcraft at this wide resolution is awesome!

Now there are some things that did bother me about this display. Samsung advertises this display as a “Full HD” monitor, but it only has VGA and DVI inputs, where is the HDMI? Another thing that was missing was any form of cable management on the back of the display. Now this is a mainstream display so I wouldn’t expect it to be able to rotate, but some vertical adjustment would have been nice.

The SyncMaster 2233SW sells for $149.99 from Geeks.com refurbished, take note though ours was a bit scratched up. On the other hand if you want it new it is only $199! So you are getting a pretty good deal either way. Overall ThinkComputers gives the Samsung SyncMaster 2233SW 22-inch Widescreen LCD Monitor a 8 out of 10 score!
