Samsung Portable SSD T5 Overview
The first thing you are going to notice about the Portable SSD T5 is just how small it is. It is official dimensions of 74 x 57.3 x 10.5 mm, which is slightly smaller than the 74 x 58 x 10.5 mm of the T3. To give you an idea of size check out the image below of the drive next to a typical 2.5-inch solid state drive. Being this small the drive is definitely pocket-able and can easily fit in any laptop bag.
Our drive came in the “Alluring Blue” color, which is for the 250GB and 500GB versions. The 1TB and 2TB version will come in “Deep Black”. This time around the entire casing of the drive is metal. The T3 was metal with a plastic cap. On the top of the drive there is a large Samsung logo and it lets us know it is indeed the Portable SSD T5.
There is a single Type-C connector on the drive, which not only provides data transmission, but power to the drive as well. This is a USB 3.1 drive so you’ll have extremely fast transfer speeds.
