ROCCAT Unveils Kave XTD 5.1 Digital Gaming Headset

Today at Gamescom 2013 ROCCAT has unveiled the Kave XTD 5.1 Digital Gaming Headset. This headset is the successor to the original ROCCAT Kave 5.1. ROCCAT listened to both their community and customers and the Kave 5.1 Digital builds on the foundations laid by the original headset by improving existing features and introduces completely new and innovative ones of its own.

The headset includes a fully-equipped desktop remote with a built-in premium 5.1 sound card. The remote also includes ROCCAT Smart Link. This allows users to pair their smartphone to the remote and allows them to make and receive calls through the headset while gaming. The rear of the remote houses 5.1 speaker ports so users can connect their existing speaker system to remote and easily toggle between headset and speaker output. The remote of course has headset and system audio controls on it.

The Kave 5.1 Digital has three driver units per earcup aligned at a 12 degree angle, this will deliver immersive and crisp sound. The headband has been completely reworked and is now weighs 25% less than the original.

The headset has already been nominated for the “Best Hardware” award at Gamescom.

Expect to see the Kave XTD 5.1 Digital in November with a price tag of $169.99.
