ROCCAT Nyth Gaming Mouse Review

MMO and MOBA games are not going anywhere and gamers in these genres are some of the most competitive. With that many peripheral makers have made specific products for these gamers. We’ve already taken a look at the Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB and the SteelSeries Rival 500 which are both designed with MMO and MOBA gamers in mind. Today we have another entry into that field, the ROCCAT Nyth. The Nyth is very unique as it has twelve, yes twelve thumb buttons, hotswappable sidegrips, and a 12,000 DPI laser sensor. Those twelve thumb buttons are actually modular so you can arrange them how you like. ROCCAT includes extra buttons and you can even 3D-print your own buttons. Can this be the ultimate mouse for MMO and MOBA gamers? Read on as we find out!

Special thanks to ROCCAT for providing us with the Nyth Gaming Mouse to review!

Packaging
The Nyth comes in ROCCAT’s typical retail packaging which is always real informative. On the front there is a photo of the mouse and many of the main features are listed. It also tells us that this mouse has 3D Print support, meaning that you can print out your own thumb buttons if you want.

The front of the retail box sort of opens up like a book. When opened there is more information on how ROCCAT designed the mouse and you can get a good look at the mouse before you buy it.

Moving over to the back there is a full overview of the mouse with the features highlighted and they are detailed as well. As I said ROCCAT always does a great job on their packaging, you should be able to find out all you need to about the Nyth from the packaging.

Opening the box and getting everything out we have the Nyth gaming mouse, quick installation guide, and a carrying case which include one swappable sidegrip and three sets of thumb buttons.

Taking a closer look at the extras that are in the carrying case there is a set of 12 thumb button covers that will disable any button if you don’t plan on using it, six longer and larger buttons (if 12 is too many for you), and then finally three cover plates, which will disable all functionality of the side area. Remember you can also 3D print your own buttons as well.
