Raijintek AURAS 12 RGB Fans Review

Installation & Usage
Getting these fans installed is quite easy. We will be installing them inside of the mean:it 5PM Tempered Glass Case as it has tempered glass on the front of the case where we plan to install these fans. Popping off the front of the case I took out the included fans and mounted the Raijintek fans.

Once you have the fans mounted you are going to want to connect everything. As I mentioned the fans have a single 6-pin connection that comes off them. These connect directly into the controller. Once you have all of the fans connected to the controller you just connect it to a SATA power connection and you are good to go. Raijintek does include adhesive tape to mount the controller. You are going to want to mount it somewhere convenient as it is the only way to change the colors and speed of the fans.

With everything connected and the panels back on the case just hit the power button to turn on your system. You’ll notice that the fans light up immediately. As you can see the O-ring lights up and is illuminated. One thing I did notice is that these fans are not as bright as some of the others I’ve tested.

To give you an idea of overall light coverage etc here is the AURAS 12 next to the Corsair HD120’s and the In Win Aurora RGB fans.

COMPARE

Using the controller you can switch between colors using the “mode” button. Here are shots of the color options available.

There is also a breathing mode and a mode that will cycle through the colors, but besides that there are no other programmed effects or modes. The actual photo of the fans that Raijintek showing the rainbow effect cannot be achieved, which again is disappointing.

Using the speed button you can set the fans on either high or low. On low they are really not audible at all, and at high they are audible but barely.
