PNY Announces the GeForce GTX 1080 XLR8 OC Graphics Card

PNY has just announced a new GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card, the GeForce GTX 1080 XLR8 OC. The card comes with a NVIDIA reference PCB design, but will have a custom air-cooling solution to support the cards overclocked speeds of 1708 MHz core and 1848 GPU Boost. This is compared to the reference GTX 1080 clocks of 1607 MHz core and 1733 MHz GPU Boost. The memory is left untouched at 10 GHz (GDDR5X-effective).

The cooling solution is made up of a split aluminum fin-stack from which heat from the CPU is to two aluminum fin stacks by 8 mm thick nickel-plated copper heatpipes. The heatsinks are ventilated by three 80 mm cooling fans, which will stay off when the GPU is idle. The card draws power from a single 8-pin PCI-Express power connector.
