OCZ to Start Off 2014 with the Vertex 460 Solid State Drive

As many of you known OCZ’s assets were acquired by Toshiba. With that we were unsure if the OCZ name would stay around, but Toshiba is keeping OCZ around. To start off 2014 OCZ will be launching the Vertex 460 2.5-inch solid state drive very soon.

As many expected this drive will feature Toshiba’s latest 19 nm MLC toggle mode NAND flash memory. Since Toshiba effectively owns OCZ it will enable OCZ to have very aggressive prices as they can get the NAND for less. The Vertex 460 will also feature the Barefoot 3 M10 controller. OCZ did not have a live demo running so we cannot share benchmark results, but they did have the below spec sheet.

This shows that the Vertex 460 will be very impressive in mixed workload performance. Expect to see the Vertex 460 launched later this month.
