OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333 4GB Low Voltage Dual Channel Memory Kit Review

Conclusions
I was very pleased with the performance of the OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333 Low Voltage. Both overclocks showed significant performance gains in nearly every instance. Latency scores were excellent. I did test the memory at CAS 6, but the performance gains weren’t enough to add to the charts, as is usually the case.

The platinum plated heatspreaders just look sharp, I always like them. It overclocks well, I busted the DDR3-1600 mark. My past experience with Platinum Series memory is that it usually isn’t the greatest overclocker, but this kit surpassed my expectations. The 7-7-7-20 timings goes a long way towards giving performance more in the direction of a faster memory kit with CAS 8 or higher.

The memory sells for $124.99 at my favorite online retailer. That is about mid-priced for low voltage 4GB kits of all speeds and timings, and a little on the high side of CAS 7 4GB LV kits. But it is a solid and stable performer and I like it. ThinkComputers.org gives the OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333 7-7-7-20 4GB Low Voltage Dual Channel kit a 9 out of 10 score.
