NZXT Whisper Classic Series Silent Tower Review

External Overview
While NZXT primarily designs their cases around gamers I think that they took that NZXT gamer design and applied it to a business aspect. The NZXT Whisper is a silent, full tower case which includes 10mm thick sound dampening foam and a PSU silencer for the ultimate silent case. With support of nine hard drives, five optical drives and the expandability for Extended ATX motherboards it would be hard not to classify this case for server purposes. The server-style case extends to the external design of the case, which in itself is pretty plain. The bezel seems similar to other server-style cases, but with the added gamer twist of blue LED’s.

Opening up the front panel reveals the seven 5.25″ drive slots, the upper most of which includes a 3.5″ drive adapter. The power button, HDD activity LED and power LED are all visible when the bezel door is closed; the reset button is only visible upon opening the door.

Below the drive bays lies the 120mm blue LED fan which is covered by black wire mesh.

Moving on top of the case lays a small box in peaking slightly above the case. A clip holds this case down, but upon release it pops up with easy access ports which include 2 x USB, HD Audio connectors and an eSATA port.

The rear of the case is very similar to any standard case except for two things: the power supply and motherboard have switched places (as referring to most computers) and there are two 80mm fan grills built into the case in addition to the 120mm and an extra grill for VGA cooling.
