NZXT H700i Case Review

A Look Inside
Removing the tempered glass side panel and taking a look inside the H700i we can see that it has a typical two compartment design, with a large top compartment, and a smaller bottom compartment. You also notice a large angled steel piece, which is meant to hide cables and give some contrast to the inside of the case as it is white and the rest of the inside of the case is black. Hidden behind this is the “Smart Device” which is a hub where the fans and RGB strips are connected to.

Starting at the front of the case we have the three included Aer F120 120 mm fans. If you want to go the watercooling route you can install radiators up to 360 mm here in a push-pull configuration. There is more than enough room for thick radiators, up to 60 mm according to NZXT. Moving into the case we have our motherboard tray, which supports motherboards from Mini-ITX all the way up to E-ATX (Up to 272mm or 10.7-inches). At the top there is a large open section made to route cables.

Moving over we can see the expansion slot covers, which use thumbscrews for easy removal and installation. At the top of the case there is room for either two 140 mm fans or three 120 mm fans as well as watercooling radiators up to 360 mm. You can also see that there is a RGB stip installed at the top of the case. The second RGB strip is not pre-installed, you get to pick where you want to install it.

The power supply cover takes up most of the bottom of the case. Unlike designs we’ve seen in the past the top of the cover is completely ventilated. There are two 2.5-inch hard drive mounts on the top of the power supply cover, as well as one on the front for displaying your solid state drives.

Taking the opposite side panel off the case we can see how the rest of the case is designed. There is actually a lot going on, on the backside of the case!

The first thing that we see are cable routing channels with integrated velcro ties. NZXT definitely has a way they want you to route your cables with this case and have given you predefined paths for cables to go. Also on the backside of the motherboard tray you’ll find two removable 2.5-inch drive mounts.

A the bottom of the case you’ll find two removable hard drive trays. These trays are all steel and support both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch hard drives. So in total you can install 7 hard drives in this case. On the other side is where you power supply will be mounted.
