NZXT H700i Case Review

NZXT H700i Overview
The NZXT H700i is the largest case in the H-Series, it has a typical mid tower “box” design. We received the white / black version of the case, but it also comes in black / black, black / red, and black / blue. The case has official dimensions of 230mm x 516mm x 494mm (WxHxD) and weighs in at just over 27 pounds. Construction is mostly steel, but we of course have that tempered glass side panel, which we will get into in just a little bit.

Starting at the front of the case we have a completely blank design here, there is a small NZXT logo towards the bottom, but that is about it. The front of the case easily pops off to reveal a large fan filter and three NZXT Aer F120 120mm fans. You might be wondering where these fans get air from? Well there are vents on either side of the case, which allows for proper airflow in to the case.

Moving up to the top of the case, here you’ll find your buttons and front panel connections which include a large power button, two USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, and HD audio connections. The rest of the top of the case just a plain panel, again you might be wondering how any top mounted fans might get air? See the vents a long the top of the case, that is how.

The main side panel of the case is a tempered glass side panel. This panel has a small black border, but it is not tinted, so you’ll be able to see your hardware inside pretty easily. The opposite side panel is just a normal steel panel, white in our case.

The tempered glass side panel is held into place by four thumbscrews, which is pretty standard. Around each side panel you have ventilation holes, we first saw this design on be quiet’s Dark Base Pro 900. It enables case designers to have very sleek front and top panel designs without loosing ventilation for those sections of the case.

Moving around to the back of the case we have more ventilation holes towards the top, and you’ll notice a small button. This bottom releases the back side panel. You might have been wondering how NZXT designed the back panel with no screws or hinges, this is how. Just press down on the button and it will release the side panel, nifty! There is a rear NZXT Aer F140 140 mm fan included with this case, giving you a total of four fans included with the case. The fan mounts have a slit design allowing you to move your fan up or down to better line up with your CPU or make room for thicker radiators.

Moving down the case you have your expansion slots and power supply mount. There is a filter than comes out from the back of the case for easy maintenance and cleaning.

Looking at the bottom of the case there are four large feet with rubber on the bottom. These feet will lift the case off the ground for proper airflow.
