NZXT H440 Razer Edition Case Review

Building in the NZXT H440 “RAZER Edition”
Building in these newly engineered NZXT cases is like buying a pre-modded case from a professional Modder and adding your own parts to it. I am not kidding. The part that I love about these cases is the fact that you don’t have to mod these cases to make them look good like you spent a small fortune and all you did was pay an extra 50 bucks for the theme and the mod. Usually you would spend hundreds more.

I will look at fitting the hard drives in place first. They take four screws no matter what kind of data drive you use. Mechanical and SSD will each need the same number of screws but they will use different holes for mounting.

Install 3.5 Mech drive

The SSD mounting unit on the front shelf laying on the power supply cover is only for SSDs and Laptop hard drives so there is only four screw holes here that will line of for either. SSDs are more common now but there are some impressive Mechanical laptop drives that hold a lot of data that could be used here.

Mounting a 360 radiator could not be easier. The NZXT H440 case was made for a clean 360 radiator to be mounted and because of the panels are sound proofed all those extra fans you may want to add will not mean a lot of volume of sound. This case is not fully sound proof but it is very quiet.

Again I used the (tie off method) process for the CPU water block to save any Motherboard pins or to keep the water block from banging and breaking something while you are mounting the Motherboard or other things. Also it gives the builder the opportunity to move the case in any position he or she needs without breaking anything, even upside down or face down.

Mounting the motherboard and video card as well as any other peripherals are really straight forward and simple. There is a rounded bead on top of one of the middle stand offs to keep the motherboard in place while you mount it with the included hardware and the back pci slots will need a Phillips head screwdriver as they are installed very tightly. The back pci slots that are not being used are ventilated for better air flow.

Remove the back power supply plate from the case and install it to the back of your power supply.

Now slowly lower your power supply into the hole in the back of the case and be sure that the fan on the PSU is pointing down. If you are mounting a modular power supply try to determine all the plugs that you will need and put them in first so you won’t have to thread wires after the power supply has been mounted tightly.

Finally it’s time to show off your wire management skills and fear not if you are not that great at it, wire management is an art so if you can’t do it perfect, please do not feel bad. Neither can I. I am still working on it.

The back of the case has places to hide things under on the sides and near drive bay area.

In the end adding back your front and top panels are easy just don’t forget to plug your front light back up to the wire that is made for it and makes sure that you power up your Wire mounting Molex in the back with the standard old style Molex plug that will run your fans and lights.
