NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Ready, But We Have To Wait

AMD is getting closer to launching their Radeon R300 Series and NVIDIA is not going to sit on the sidelines. According to the latest report from Sweclockers NVIDIA already has their new GeForce GTX 980 Ti ready for launch, but they don’t want to release it yet. Sweclockers has a pretty impressive track record when it comes to NVIDIA rumors, so it is likely that this is true.

It looks like the timeframe to release the card is set for the end of Q2 2015 or in Q3, but with the option to release it earlier if AMD’s new cards show any promise. We know many people want to get their hands on this card, but it is still a good thing that NVIDIA is holding off. This gives them time to tweak and optimize the card.

The GeForce GTX 980 Ti is expected to be just like the Titan X, except with half the memory. It will feature the full version of the GM200 core with 3072 CUDA cores, 192 TMUs, and a 384-bit memory interface for 6GB of VRAM. The Titan X currently has a $999 pricetag, while the GTX 980 Ti is expected to launch at $699.
