Mystery AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 1920 Shows Up On Motherboard Support Lists

A mystery and unannounced AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper processors has started to appear on support lists for some of the most popular motherboard vendors out there. It is the AMD Ryzen ThreadRipper 1920 (non-x), which has not been officially announced by AMD. It is a 12-core, 24-thread part like the 1920X, but has lower frequencies of 3.2 GHz base and 3.8 GHz boost (compared to the 3.5 GHz and 4.0 GHz of the 1920X). The lower frequencies mean that it has a lower TDP as well, of only 140W (1920X has a 180W TDP).

This information comes in the form of the CPU support lists for the ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme, ASRock X399 Professional Gaming/X399 Taichi as well as GIGABYTE X399-Gaming 7. This processor will retail lower than the $799 of the 1920X so it should be the sweet spot for 12-core, 24-thread processors as it will sit somewhere between the 1920X and the $549 of the 8-core, 16-thread ThreadRipper 1900X.
