MSI Unveils M.2 RAID Card With Speeds Of 7200 MB/s!

Thought your M.2 solid state drive was fast? Well MSI wanted to make it even faster! At Computex they are showing off a new PCI-Express add-in card that has room for two M.2 SSDs and puts them in RAID 0 for super fast speeds of 7200 MB/s across x8 PCI-Express lanes.

Typical M.2 NVMe PCI-Express solid state drives top out at around 3500 MB/s, which is already extremely fast. With this solution MSI is promising speeds of up to 7200 MB/s! MSI’s add-in card has room inside for two M.2 solid state drives, complete with heat-shields and a small fan to keep everything cool. The card actually has a front compartment that opens up to allow you to install your drives.

Sadly MSI currently only plans to offer the add-in card with its pre-built systems. Hopefully products like this will get enough interest where there is high enough demands where we can get our hands on it.
