MSI Shows Off Z170 Gaming M Series Motherboards

MSI has posted photos of their upcoming Z170 Gaming M series motherboards on Facebook. This series is made up of the Z170A Gaming M5, the Z170A Gaming M7, and the Z170A Gaming M9 ACK. We have to point out that the “M” does not mean these boards are micro-ATX board, but rather to let you know these are MSI Gaming products. MSI’s competitors have imitated the naming scheme they used on their Z97 motherboards.

Starting with the Z170A it has all of the features that you need to build a pretty impressive PC build with two graphics cards. For starters you have a 10 phase all digital power design, all PCI-Express 3.0 expansion area, ten SATA ports including two SATA-Express, two M.2 slots (32 Gb/s), Killer E2205 Gigabit Ethernet, and MSI’s AudioBoost III audio solution. The Z170A Gaming M7 takes things up to the next level with a 14 phase power design and a new “Game Boost” knob that steps up the CPU and memory in 11 preset steps. It also offers better on-board audio. Finally at the top is the Z170A Gaming M9 ACK. It has Killer ACK wireless, liquid cooling built into the heatsinks, and a nifty backplate. All three of these boards feature USB 3.1 with type-A and type-C ports.

These motherboards are expected to launch with Intel’s Skylake processors on August 5th.
