Linksys Announces New MU-MIMO Routers

Routers have had MIMO for a while, but MU-MIMO is still relatively new and routers are just now starting to take advantage of it. Linksys announced two new routers, the first is EA9500 which has a max throughput of 5.3Gbps. The second new router is EA7500 that has a max throughput of 1900Mbps.

Linksys EA9500 has a powerful 1.4GHz dual-core processor to back up its tri-band 5.3Gbps wireless throughput, a rare and delightful built-in 8 port Gigabit Ethernet switch, 1 USB 3.0 port, 1 USB 2.0 port, and 8 high performance antennas.

Linksys EA7500 is EA9500’s little brother. It is using MU-MIMO and a 1.4GHz dual-core processor just like EA9500. However, EA7500 is only a dual-band, 2×2 MU-MIMO configuration. EA7500 has the more traditional 4 port Gigabit Ethernet switch, 1 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0 port, and 3 antennas.
