Installation
So what will we be installing into this case? Our small test system is comprised of the ASRock A330ION nVidia MCP7A-ION Mini-ITX Motherboard, 4GB of memory, a Seagate 1TB hard drive, optical drive, and the Cougar SX850 850W Power Supply (not pictured). You can actually take off the 2nd side panel to make it easier for you to mount the motherboard, it is easily secured with screws.
Next we need to remove the optical drive cage. This is done by removing 2 screws on each side of it. Once it is out you can install your optical drive, then just go ahead and re-install it.
After that we have the hard drive installation. The hard drive cage is removable and is easily removed my loosening a screw. Then just use the thumbscrews to secure your hard drive in place. At this point before we go any further with installation let’s put the other side panel on with the motherboard and connect things.
The power supply is next and to install it remove the power supply bracket from the back of the case then go ahead mount it to the back of your power supply. Then slide your power supply back in and connect everything. This is where we ran into trouble, our power supply the Cougar SX850 850W Power Supply did not fit. We could not slide it all the way in. This power supply is a bit larger than others being 180mm long compared to most that are 150mm, but Lian Li did not advise us about the power supply requirements, nor do they have a warning on their site about the acceptable power supply size. Unfortunately all of the other power supplies we have on hand are 1000W and above and would not fit into this case so we are stuck at this point.
