Lenovo ThinkPad X200 12.1-inch Tablet Notebook Review

Final Thoughts
I have seen 3 other newer tablet notebooks and Lenovo does the best job at it. If you thing of who is going to be using a tablet it is probably someone who will be walking around with the tablet. It would be quite easy for them to drop the tablet and damage it. If you happen to drop the X200 it has shock-mounted storage so you will not damage the hard drive inside. Also the top and bottom covers provide more protection than any other tablets in the same class as the X200. Besides just physical protection there are a lot of security features on the X200 tablet that you just won’t find on other tablets or even just plain notebooks. The X200 supports full disk encryption to keep your files safe and you have the fingerprint reader for even more added protection.

You would think with all that protection this tablet would be clunky and big, but it really is not at all. Weighing in at only 3.5lbs it is quite small and easily fit in the place of my Dell XPS M1210. Also you might guess that since it is so small you will not get a full keyboard, but the X200 tablet has the same ThinkPad keyboard that we are all used it seeing. Going with the ultraportable theme you have WiFi, Bluetooth, and Wireless broadband built in. Lenovo will also be coming out with models that have WiMax and wireless USB built-in.

If I had to get a tablet notebook this is for sure the one I would I would choose, with all the features you really cannot go wrong. The only thing that would hold me back is the price, over $3000 is a lot to pay for a notebook, even if it’s a tablet. As always with ThinkPad’s you are getting what you pay for! Overall ThinkComputers give the Lenovo ThinkPad X200 12.1-inch Tablet Notebook a 9 out of 10 score and our Recommended Award.
