Lenovo Announces IdeaCentre Stick 300 Micro PC

We have talked about the Intel Compute Stick in the past and it looks like Lenovo is getting in on the PC Stick or Micro PC market with their IdeaCentre Stick 300. This little device manages to fit an Intel Atom processor in a HDMI stick that measures only 3.94-inches x 1.5-inches x 0.59-inches.

The tiny device is powered by an Intel Atom Z3735F “Bay Trail” processor that runs at 1.33 GHz and can boost up to 1.83 GHz. Also inside you will find 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a micro USB 2.0 port, microSD card reader, HDMI port, and 802.11n WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity.

“Imagine transforming the traditional TV in a vacation rental into a smart multi-media hub, capable of streaming a movie, video chatting with relatives or editing a work document on the fly. Convert the dusty monitor lurking in a spare bedroom into a web-enabled homework station, or transform a coveted man-cave into a home cinema.”

This seems like the perfect device for those looking for a simple web machine, streaming machine, or an alternative to Google’s Chromecast. All you have to do is plug it into your TV or Display, connect power, and get a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse and you are good to go!

The IdeaCentre Stick 300 will be available in select markets this summer and will ship with Windows 8.1. Of course if you have the device it will be eligible for the Windows 10 upgrade on July 29. The unit will be available in the United States this fall and will have a price of $129.
