Kodak Zx1 HD Digital Camcorder Review

Zx1 Overview
The Zx1 has the same candy bar design as many pocket digital camcorders that we have seen.  We received the black version of the Zx1, but it also comes in red, blue, pink, and yellow.  So will the Zx1 really fit in your pocket?  Yes, its dimensions are 4.5 x 2.0 x 0.8-inches and weighs only 3.2 ounces without batteries.  Here is a picture of it next to a Flip MinoHD digital camcorder.

This camcorder is weather resistant, which means you will be able to take it out in the rain and snow.  I wouldn’t suggest putting this camera under water or anything like that.  Most of the camera has a rubberized finish which allows it to get wet.  On the front of the camera there is of course the lens which does not have a cover, recording LED, microphone and there also is a speaker on the top of the camcorder.  The bottom part of the camcorder slides off to reveal where the rechargeable batteries go.

Flipping the camcorder over there is a large 2-inch LCD screen and all of your controls.  These controls actually light up when you turn the camera on.  The bottom of the camera has a tripod mount.

Most of your connections are on the right side of the camera.  There is a small rubber cover that can be pulled back to reveal the HDMI connection, A/V connection, and the DC power connection.

On the opposite side there is a similar rubber cover that when pulled back reveals the SDHC card slot.  It supports SDHC cards up to 32GB.
