Kingwin Lazer Gold 1000W Modular Power Supply Review

Lazer Gold 1000W Overview
The Lazer Gold Power supply is not that much to look at; it has a very typical black finish.  Comparing it to other power supplies it is a bit longer, but most 1000W+ power supplies are usually longer.  On the side there is a Lazer Gold sticker.

Looking at the top of the power supply there is large sticker with all of your input and output values.  Moving around to the back of the power supply it has a honeycomb design that will help with cooling.

On the bottom of the power supply is a large 140mm blue LED fan.  This fan is a smart fan which means it only operates when required.  A graph on the other side of the power supply shows you how exactly it works.

On the front of the power supply are 8 modular plugs, which all have covers on them.  I’ve never seen plugs like this; Kingwin calls them their Crystal Cube Modular plugs.  When you remove the covers you can get a better look at them.  This power supply is not fully modular as the power, CPU power, and one PCI-E cable is permanently connected to the power supply.  The connected cables are fully sleeved completely into the power supply, which is what we like to see.

The other modular cables come in a nice case.  Getting them out you have 9 total cables with 10 SATA connectors, 9 molex connectors, 2 6-pin PCI-E connectors, 2 8-pin (6+2 pin) PCI-E connectors, and a single floppy connector.
