Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4-2400 16GB Memory Kit Review

Final Thoughts
Kingston never fails to impress with any of their products and the HyperX Predator DDR4 memory is no exception. First let’s talk about looks. Kingston has gone all black with the headstpeader on this kit and has matched the PCB as well. The heatspreader has a large “X” on it and that really stands out and all of the other logo are subtle. While Kingston was able to have a great heatspreader it does come at the cost of clearance space. You are going to want to make sure that you have a cooling solution that will not interfere with these taller modules.

One thing that really impressed me with this kit were the very tight timings. At 2400 MHz with timings of 12-13-13-35 they have the tightest timings we have seen on DDR4 to date! With that they were able to give us the best performance we have seen from a DDR4 kit to date! On top of that we easily overclocked this kit to 2667 MHz without any issues at all. We didn’t have to change the timings or voltage at all.

Getting this kit setup is extremely easy. All you have to do is enable the XMP profile and you are good to go. Kingston even includes a second XMP profile if you don’t want to run the kit at 2400 MHz or are having issues getting the kit to that speed with your motherboard.

Right now this kit is selling for $239.99 at my favorite online retailer. Kingston also backs this kit with a lifetime warranty. Overall ThinkComputers gives this kit a 9 out of 10 score and our Editor’s Choice Award!
