Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4-2400 16GB Memory Kit Review

Kingston HyperX Predator DDR4 Overview
When I first took this kit out of its packaging I said to myself wow these are some nice looking modules! They really are and on top of that they have some weight to them, which speaks to the quality of the heatspreader.

This being DDR4 we know that it is a quad channel kit with 4 individual modules. Each module is 4 GB, giving us a total capacity of 16 GB. Our kit, the HX424C12PB2K4/16 runs at 2400 MHz with timings of 12-13-13-35 at 1.35V.

The heatspreader on this kit really is great. It features a large black “X” that covers most of the module itself. The rest of the heatspreader is black too so it shouldn’t be hard to match these modules with pretty much any hardware. There are both HyperX and Predator logos as well as “DDR4” on the modules.

The opposite side of each module has a small sticker on it that gives you the part number as well as other important information. The PCB on each module is black, which of course goes with the all-black theme Kingston seems to have going with this kit.

One thing you want to keep in mind about these modules is that the heatspeader comes up pretty high above the actual memory PCB. You are going to want to keep this is mind when choosing your CPU cooler as the height of the heatspeader could cause you clearance issues.
