Final Thoughts
So you are looking to max out the memory on your system? Well the HyperX beast kits from Kingston are an obvious choice, especially if your system supports up to 32GB or 64GB of memory. Not many companies are offering kits in such large capacities. With 64GB of memory this kit is perfect for workstation users and people really need that much memory on hand. Also you could create a RAMDisk which in most cases is faster than a solid state drive!
This is an attractive kit as well. Kingston has outfitted each module with a semi-aggressive black heatspreader that has a HyperX beast logo on it. Now the heatspreader does extend beyond the actual top of the modules so you are going to want to make sure you are going to have clearance with your CPU cooler, especially if you are filling up all of the memory slots on your motherboard. Kingston also wants to keep these modules nice and cool and the 64GB kit that we reviewed does come with two of Kingston’s HyperX coolers.
As far as performance goes we had great results testing on our X79 platform. Kingston warns that running 64GB of memory at 2133MHz may not be stable on all platforms, but we did not have any issues with our setup. I would make sure that you have the latest BIOS for you motherboard before you install the memory. I like that they have included two XMP profiles (2133MHZ CL11, 1600MHZ CL9). So if for some reason the 2133MHz profile is unstable on your system for whatever reason so you easily switch to the 1600MHz profile without having to mess around with all of the settings in the BIOS.
64GB of memory is a lot and that does come at a price. Right now the kit we reviewed is selling for around $599 at my favorite online retailer. Corsair’s 64GB Dominator Platinum Kit is $899 and G.Skill’s 64GB RipjawsZ Kit is $699. Kingston backs these modules with a lifetime warranty so looking at the prices you can see what the obvious choice is!
