Kingston DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 64GB USB 3.0 Flash Drive Review

Usage & Testing
Getting the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 setup is as simple as plugging it into your system.  Of course if you are going to want to plug it into a USB 3.0 port to get the best speeds, but it still will work in a USB 2.0 port.  To test speeds we will be using 3 different programs: HD Tune, ATTO Disk Benchmark and CrystalDiskMark. Let’s get started.

HD Tune’s benchmark is a great test to show you expected speeds on your device.  It gives you min, max and average speeds as well as access time, burst rate and CPU usage.

Now remember the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 has a rated read speed of 150MB/s, it looks like it well outperformed that with an average read speed of 202.4MB/s.

Next up we have ATTO Disk Benchmark that measures transfer rates across specific lengths.  ATTO uses RAW data, our transfer sizes ranged from 0.5 to 8192kb.

Again great results here, right up to specifications for both read and write.

CrystalDiskMark is our last test and it has a sequential read / write test as well as a 512k and 4k random read / write test.

Here we see that the DataTraveler Ultimate 3.0 G3 exceeded its specifications!
