Intel’s Optane Memory Accelerator Now Available For Purchase

Intel’s more cost-effective Optane Memory Accelerator is now available for purchase. If you remember Intel first released the DC P4800X SSD, which is the Optane-based SSD that sells for $1520 for the 375GB! Now you have the option of the more cost-effective Optane Memory accelerator which is available in 16GB or 32GB single-sided M.2 2280 for factor drives. While you can order one of these drives, they won’t ship out till the 29th, which isn’t too far off.

Intel Optane Memory Accelerator

The Optane Memory accelerator is meant to increase the performance of mechanical hard drives, it puts out 1.4GB/s data transfer speeds as well as 204 MB/s low 4K read performance. You need to keep in mind that you need a system that is compatible with this drive, so you’ll need at least a Kaby Lake i3 and a 200 series chipset board. The 16GB model MEMPEK1W016GAXT starts at $45, and the 32GB model is expected to go for around $77.
