Intel Shows Off Unlocked, Socketed Broadwell CPU at GDC

In a press conference that was held during GDC Intel was showing some things off, one of the more notable products was a desktop system running a 14 nm Broadwell CPU. Intel plans to release a socketed version of Broadwell in the middle of this year.

Intel Broadwell Desktop

This new processor will be a 65W desktop processor that is based of Intel’s Broadwell architecture and will be the first socketed processor to feature Intel’s Iris Pro Graphics. Another interesting fact is that it is fully unlocked, so it will be quite interesting to see how well Iris Pro will do with a little overclocking!
