Intel Officially Announces The Core i7-8086K Limited Edition Processor

Intel has officially announced the Core i7-8086K Limited Edition processor at an event on the sidelines of Computex 2018. This six-core, 12-thread processor comes in the LGA1151v2 package so it is compatible with 300-series chipset motherboards.

The chip is based on the same 14 nm “Coffee Lake” silicon as the i7-8700K processor. It will however feature higher clock speeds of 4.0 GHz base and a maximum Turbo Boost frequency of 5.0 GHz, making it Intel’s first 5.0 GHz out of the box. It also features 256 KB of L2 cache per core, and 12 MB of shared L3 cache.

This processor will go on sale June 8th, no word yet on pricing but it is expected to have a MSRP of $486.
