Intel’s 8th Generation desktop processors were introduced rather fast (just 9 months after the January 3rd launch of the i7-7700K). With that retailers have quite a lot of unsold inventory of the i7-7700K and even i7-6700K chips. With the increased multi-core performance (up to 35% compared to the i7-7700K) these new chips really compete with AMD’s Ryzen chips. To help retailers sell these unsold chips Intel has started a new game-bundle called “Game Without Compromise”.
Buyers of brand new Core i7-7700K and i7-6700K processors will receive game keys for “Total War: Warhammer II” and “Assassins Creed: Origins,” which is a $100 value added to the cost of these chips. We will have to see if this bundle will help retailers clean out old inventory. As with all game bundles, the “Game Without Compromise” bundle will be limited to select retailers.
