Intel’s consumer product roadmap for the remainder of 2015 through the first half of 2016 has been leaked. First let’s start with Intel’s HEDT (High End Desktop) segment. Haswell-E will finally get its upgrade to the 14nm process in the form of Broadwell-E. Broadwell-E will start rolling out in Q1 of 2016. Naming has not been given on the roadmap, but we can expect these processors to be called the Core i7-6960X, Core i7-6930K, and the Core i7-6820K.
On the above roadmap we can also see “P1K” and “P1” segments. These will be refreshed this year with their Skylake variants, which we have already covered extensively over the past few weeks.
Below this we have the Mainstream (MS) class, which includes “MS2+”, “MS2K”, “MS2”, and “MS1” tier levels. These will also be refreshed this year to their Skylake counterparts, namely the Core i5-6600K, i5-6000, and i5-6500.
Intel Broadwell-E Platform Detailed
With the leak of the roadmap also comes the spec sheet for Broadwell-E. Broadwell-E processors will come in either 8 or 6 core variants, with up to 20 MB of Intel Smart Cache. These processors will fit the current LGA2011v3 socket and make use of the X99 chipset so you will not have to upgrade your motherboard to use them. The integrated memory controller will support DDR4-2400 memory natively, without having to overclock. Each chip will have a 140W TDP.
